A perfect 90-plus degree day at the Virginia Beach oceanfront brought record crowds [1] to the Neptune Festival with concerts, volleyball, parades, sand sculpturing and a whole lot more!
The Guava Jam band rocked the afternoon crowd, which included Mayor Will Sessoms, School Board Members Scott Seery, Ashley McLeod, and Patrick Salyer, and City Council candidates Tanya Bullock and David Redmond. Could’ve been more..those are ones I chatted with.
But the real political action was on stage. State Senator Jeff McWaters on percussion and background vocals, Congressional candidate Scott Rigell on drums. Well, except when Governor Bob McDonnell grabbed the sticks to don the drums for “Brown Eyed Girl.”

Then, Bobby Mac greeted the huge crowd.

And to campaign a bit with Council hopeful Tanya Bullock.

At this rate, I can see the January Legislative Sendoff dinner being at least a karaoke/open mike night.
