If you’ve ever had the chance to drive through the city of Norfolk after a heavy rainstorm, you know that you’d rather have a boat than a car.
In a blinding flash of the obvious, WAVY-10 local did a report on Norfolk’s flooding problems – the city’s solution: to contract with a foreign company and then petition the federal government for a bailout – literally. (certainly rezoning and systematically replacing the antiquated drainage system couldn’t help)

Perhaps it’s not Mother Nature causing Norfolk to sink after all, but a bloated and bureaucratic city government hemorrhaging taxpayer dollars faster than a dam burst.
