Virginia’s newest delegates: Robinson and Wilt

Yesterday, in the 26th and 27th House of Delegates Districts, Roxann Robinson and Tony Wilt won special elections to replace former Delegates Sam Nixon and Matt Lohr, who took positions within the administration.

Robinson and Wilt had little trouble winning in these districts, with Wilt garnering nearly 70% [1] of the vote and Robinson over 70% [2]. Voter turnout was decent in the 26th for a special election – 25% – but light in the 27th – about 8%.

Of the delegate-elects, Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Pat Mullins said that they are individuals who will provide “common-sense, conservative solutions” to the state’s most pressing issues.
