Candidate for the Democratic Congressional nomination in the First District, Krystal Ball, received more good news yesterday when her delegate count jumped to 79 of the 101 needed to secure the nomination.
“It is the widely held belief nationally and throughout the district that our momentum cannot be stopped ,” said the Ball campaign in a recent statement.
Lancaster County (4 delegates), Essex County (3), Hampton City (17) and Spotsylvania (23) will be holding caucuses between now and April 6, so she could secure the nomination in the next few days. First District Democrats will hold their convention in Fredericksburg on May 8.
Ball, of King George County, is facing Scott Robinson [1] of Tappahannock for the right to challenge incumbent Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Westmoreland) [2] who won with 57% of the vote in 2008.
