McWaters rolls to victory

A healthy margin of victory sends Republican Jeff McWaters as the nominee to replace Ken Stolle in the Virginia Senate. An expensive and nasty race full of negative mailpieces and radio ads, plus some despicable blogging by some jerk whose name I can’t remember, ended with McWaters the clear winner: 4,776 to 2,815.

Democrats haven’t chosen an opponent for him, and after this, they’d be wise to give this one a pass.

McWaters lengthy endorsements, focus on the economy, and an overwhelming financial advantage allowed him to hit the airwaves with well-received television ads.

“I am so humbled at the fantastic turnout Virginia Beach delivered today. Despite the horrible weather conditions, Virginia Beach voters have once again taken pride and participated in the significant constitutional right we as Americans have: the right to vote” said Jeff McWaters.

“I want to congratulate Rosemary Wilson on her campaign, and I look forward to working with her to address the many issues that concern and interest Virginia Beach voters” said McWaters.

Lines were long at the few voting locations, and the weather was not ideal, but McWaters turned out the vote exceptionally well.

Most frequently heard voter comment today? “Now people can stop calling me.”

Amen!
