The open-seat being vacated by Delegate Clarke Hogan (R-60) was set to be a true battle between the Democrats top-tier candidate Ted Bennett, a former delegate who was seeking a comeback and James Edmunds, a farmer and businessman.
But Bennett has now dropped out.
Bennett was facing a primary against David Guill, a member of the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors, but the favorite was certainly Bennett.
This race clearly now favors the Republican Edmunds who has a breadth of experience in conservation, federal boards, education, and business.
