Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, now running for Governor of California, spoke today at a large campaign breakfast for Eric Cantor in Richmond. Sounding very much like her former boss Mitt Romney, Whitman trashed the taxes and regulation that make life difficult for businesses. “We are near a tipping point,” she said. If business is the main engine of democracy, then taxes this high and higher may break the engine. She also said that “Californians can no longer afford the government they have” and that as Governor she would bring Californians the government they deserve.
