Well it looks like i might be paying out a few bets. As a number of conservatives here and elsewhere predicted, Obama will likely drop/postpone one of his major campaign tax proposals. However, the kicker is that it’s not the one they expected. The NYT reported yesterday that, according to multiple Obama advisers, he will likely postpone his proposed immediate rollback of the Bush tax cuts on those making greater than $250K and just let them expire on schedule in 2011. That’s right, he likely wont be pushing for his pledged tax hike on wealthy earners, to prevent any counter effects on his planned stimulus package.
I don’t know about you, but I sure couldn’t have called that one.
