In spite of the hazy, smoky Pungo sky, folks came out to show support for Congresswoman Thelma Drake Saturday.
Virginia Beach Airport provided a relaxed environment fitting the tone of the event. Without long political speeches, the afternoon focused on enjoying music, friends, and family.
Thelma Drake, as usual, was very approachable, and spent the entire event visiting with each of her guests.
Spacious hangars allowed plenty of room for spectators to sit and watch Lexi Blake & Colton James preform. Hangar doors remained open allowing old and young alike to listen to great music while exploring the airport museum and antique cars on display. Guests met NASCAR Stars and enjoyed checking out their race cars that were on-site.
Making a perfect backdrop to the festivities were the sounds and sites of vintage planes coming and going.
The Virginia Beach Airport is the best kept secret for a party.
