Jindal not likely to be the VP nominee
July 23, 2008
From today’s CBS morning show, Harry Smith interviewed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal:
SMITH: Well, let me ask you this, now if he offered you the job, would you turn it down?
GOV. JINDAL: He’s not going to offer it to me. We’ve made it clear in private and publicly, every conversation, that I’ve got the job that I want, and the way I want to help him get elected is by being Governor of Louisiana. I have supported him. I think he’ll be a great president. I think his positions on national security, cutting taxes and energy production are or in line with the lose of Louisianans and American voters.
While this is not an outright denial, and as much as I think Gov. Jindal is the future of the Republican Party, and despite the fact that McCain is going to visit Jindal, I’d be shocked if Jindal is the pick, especially considering the incredible buzz surrounding former Massachussetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
