In a very principled move by Del. Jeff Frederick, he announced yesterday that he would not seek re-election to the House of Delegates if elected as RPV Chair.

VPOD: Mark Ellmore, Candidate for the GOP nomination, 8th CD

Mark Elllmore proves the old axiom “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” This is his second attempt at the Republican nomination for the right to face incumbent Democrat Rep. Jim Moran this November. He faces political newcomer Amit Singh in a primary battle that will be resolved on June 10.

Can’t wait for Nuckols’ article next year

Christina Nuckols, an editorial writer for the Virginian-Pilot, and former General Assembly beat reporter (whom one delegate always shakes their head when I mention her name), decided to grace us this Sunday with her analysis of her perception of a Republican “fracture.”

Frederick campaign releases letter to Speaker Howell

As if the leadership in the House of Delegates didn’t have enough on its hands with transportation, Speaker Howell’s recent endorsement of current RPV Chairman John Hager inspired a fiery response from Mrs. Frederick.

Hampton Roads delegation split on RPV chair

There were several notable exceptions from the GOP-Hampton Roads Delegation on display from current RPV Chair John Hager’s endorsement list — among them Dels. Terrie Suit and Sal Iaquinto of Virginia Beach.

Howell Endorses Hager

Speaker of the House William J. Howell has sent a letter endorsing John Hager for Chairman of the RPV. I like this paragraph:
National Republican organizations are taking note of RPV’s new progress. Unlike years past, the RNC’s ‘Victory 08′ operation and the McCain Campaign will work ‘hand-in-hand’ with RPV to elect our Party’s presidential, Senate, […]

RPV attempting to incentivize party growth

The Republican Party of Virginia (RPV), Attorney General Bob McDonnell, and Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling have come up with a great idea to motivate local city and county GOP committees at taking a proactive approach to party growth and outreach — give them more money for achieving outreach goals.

Meyer responds to Kirwin criticisms

Meyer Strikes Back – Kirwin is Wrong Once Again
By Bruce Meyer / May 7, 2008
On May 3rd, 2008, Brian Kirwin posted a story about the 2nd District Convention. In his story, there were many errors and it was flush with bias.

SCANDAL: RPV’s John Hager Is Taking Down DNC’s Howard Dean!

Meet the Press talked it up over the weekend, as did several Virginia news outlets. After meeting with representatives from the Obama and Clinton camps weeks ago (and talking heavily about it in the press to show “unity”), the DNC launched a fierce attack ad against Republican nominee Senator John McCain.
The problem? Co-ordinated […]
