Iaquinto calls out Nye
“The people of Virginia Beach expect their candidates for public office to keep their word. On Monday, Glenn Nye’s campaign demanded that Thelma Drake cancel a fund raiser with Karl Rove, who has done nothing wrong. Nye’s campaign falsely said Rove broke House rules. On Wednesday, Nye’s campaign called their own standard “absurd” when they […]
Glenn Nye: Hypocrite for cash
Will Glenn Nye practice what he preaches? Will he give back the $4,000 give to him by Rep. Charlie Rangel, who admitted he violated House ethics rules in fundraising?
Nye urged Rep. Thelma Drake to cancel her fundraiser featuring Karl Rove, but he was pocketing money from Rangel, the ethically-challenged New Yorker.
“If Glenn Nye has […]
Congressional action taken on boutique fuels
Yesterday, Rep. Drake filed a discharge petition on Rep. Roy Blunt’s (R-MO) Fuel Mandate Reduction Act of 2007 (H.R. 2493), a bill that will reduce the number of special blends of fuels or “boutique fuels” in the Nation’s energy supply.

Free Speech Democrats? Not these guys.
Democrat Bob Mathieson, along with Joe Bouchard, called on Congresswoman Thelma Drake to cancel her sold-out fundraiser with Karl Rove.
“We have rules, and there are consequences for people who don’t follow rules,” Mathieson said
Where’s Bruce Willis to give Bobby a Die Hard-ish “That’s what my Captain keeps telling me!”
Cancel a fundraiser? Yeah…we’ll get […]
Webb advocates for nuclear and coal technology
How did I miss this last week? Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA), when at a book signing in Arlington, made comments advocating for nuclear and coal as alternative energy sources. This is sure to get the left in a twist.

Democrats set record!
Congratulations to Democrats! They’ve set a new record! No Congress has ever polled in single digits, but the Democrats were up to the challenge! A heart-wrenching 9% of America thinks the Democrats are doing a good job in Congress. They beat the previous record low of 11% set by….themselves!
And a record […]
DCCC goes after Boehner, Goode, Musgrave and others
The DCCC in a blog-post today stated that several congressmen, including Rep. Virgil Goode (VA-5), are making an assertion that the Chinese are drilling off the coast of Florida. Apparently this statement is not wholly correct.
The statement comes from a George Will article written on June 5 that has since been corrected. Will’s […]
“Dubya” Here…
The Party of Hope, Change, and freebies is once again dividing Americans with fierce partisan rhetoric and the politics of class envy.

Tax Attorneys You Should Know
No, really! This is Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, from Minnesota’s 6th congressional district. She has been a federal tax attorney, so she understands very well what high taxes mean to families. Here, she is speaking to the Jennifer Byler Institute on Wednesday as it met in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, her speech was very short as she […]

Randy Forbes efforts to unite Congress behind his efforts to create a “New Manhattan Project” - seven prize-winning challenges placed before the scientific, business and engineering community to make the U.S. energy independent in the next twenty years. Prudent and responsible action on transportation special session by House Republicans
With the governor calling for statewide tax increases to fund transportation, it makes sense that the House of Delegates would want to see how the governor’s bill actually turns out from the Democratically-controlled Senate before taking any action.
Unfortunately, the governor can’t find anyone in the Senate to patron his bill. The Senate Majority Leader, […]
Forbes presents New Manhattan Project on CNN
Rep. Randy Forbes (R-VA) is actually leading in Congress instead of waiting to be led when it comes to energy. His bill to create 100% energy independence within the next 20 years is one of the boldest initiatives that has been proposed in Congress in decades.
“It’s time to stop talking and actually put a […]
All congested roads lead to Richmond
Monday, Virginia Legislators will gather in Richmond to kick the tires on Virginia’s transportation system. This week has been a flurry of activity of public hearings, press releases, filed legislation, and Gov. Tim “have I done anything yet?” Kaine trying to be a shorter Mark Warner and make his legacy by raising taxes.
It’s getting […]
Episode 26. VPOD interview: State Sen. Frank Wagner proposes energy/transportation solutions. June 18, 2008.
While Democrats continue to offer very little in the way of solutions to our energy concerns, unless you count RAISING the price of oil (such as removing subsidies for energy companies, increasing the gas tax, etc.), some responsible legislators, including Virginia’s own State Sen. Frank Wagner and U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor, are actually trying to […]
Drake event was smokin’ hot
Guest post and photos by Brenda Haegley
In spite of the hazy, smoky Pungo sky, folks came out to show support for Congresswoman Thelma Drake Saturday.
Virginia Beach Airport provided a relaxed environment fitting the tone of the event. Without long political speeches, the afternoon focused on enjoying music, friends, and family.
Thelma Drake, […]
