With support from the Virginia Beach Tea Party and the Second Congressional District Republican Committee, Bearing Drift is righting the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce wrong and will be moderating and streaming a congressional debate on May 31, 7 pm, from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on First Colonial.
At this debate, not only will Pat Cardwell have the chance to participate, but the event is free and open to the public, although tickets will be distributed through the campaigns.
Details are still to be finalized, but when BD learned of the HRCC SNAFU, we immediately contacted both the Cardwell and Taylor campaigns to gauge their interest Each campaign was enthusiastic about the opportunity. The sticking point was Mr. Forbes’ schedule, but that has now been cleared as of today for this contest of ideas for the entire district to hear and participate in.
Details will follow. But BD is happy to reprise our role of moderating and bringing to the district this congressional debate – something we did twice in 2010. More importantly, we’re glad the public will have the opportunity to hear these three men discuss their ideas for the future of Virginia and this critically important district.
