Rep. Randy Forbes would like everyone to know that he is pretty popular in the Second Congressional District too.
The Forbes’ campaign released the following statement, along with the results of the survey:
Virginia Beach, VA — Congressman Randy Forbes starts his election campaign in the Second Congressional District with a commanding lead, according to an independent poll commissioned by his campaign, only days before announcing his candidacy.
The independent polling reveals Forbes holds a substantial 19 point lead against his opposition, and even larger leads (50%-19%) among core primary voting Republicans. Forbes’ strong position is helped by an enviable 87% name ID in a district where he has yet to appear on a ballot.
The survey was conducted February 2-3, 2016 in the new Second Congressional District of Virginia with likely Republican primary voters, including cell phone and landline respondents.
I like how they added “cell phone and landline” respondents. Heh.
Regardless, it’s early. But with Rep. Scott Rigell’s endorsement, strong name ID, a healthy campaign apparatus, and more…things are looking good early for Forbes. The primary will be in June.
