Tonight’s Republican presidential debate sees a narrowed field of 10 candidates — one that still lamentably does not include former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore and sees Huckabee and Christie demoted to the “kids table” — with increased pressure on many of the second tier candidates to make a move: Paul, Fiorina, and Kasich among them.
Of course, Bush tonight finds himself outside of center stage for the first time, with Carson and Trump sharing the honor. With Rubio rising and Cruz… cruising… and Bush still finding his footing, do either of those three feel the need to smash the accelerator before it’s too late? Now that Trump is old and busted, who becomes the flavor of the month?
