No small wonder why Democrats are all about gun violence. It helps them win elections.
Of course, the bodies haven’t even cooled… and DPVA responds with robocalls. Delegate Scott Lingamfelter was clearly not amused, nor was U.S. Senator Tim Kaine:
The Democrat Party of Virginia made calls last night trying to capitalize on the tragic shooting in Oregon, and they are somehow trying to associate me with that.
I get it that they want power. I get it that they want to defeat me. But this is a shameful tactic that really amounts to gutter politics.
Fortunately, I had people call me yesterday to say how they are mad at the DPV for doing this. The Democrats in Richmond and my opponent would do well to consider the words of Democratic Senator Tim Kaine, who said after the shooting at Virginia Tech of those trying to score political points over that shooting, “People who want to…make it their political hobby horse to ride, I’ve got nothing but loathing for them.” I agree with Senator Kaine on this.
Kaine is absolutely right to attack DPVA on their shameful tactics. DPVA needs to issue a direct apology to members of the General Assembly, and to Senator Tim Kaine for the classless disrespect they have shown both to Kaine and to the family members still grieving in Oregon.
Good call on Delegate Scott Lingamfelter to put politics aside and issue the call for civility.
The Virginia Way isn’t dead yet, folks. It’s just dead at DPVA.
