Democrat Gary McCollum’s no-good-very-bad-week continues, this time with new observations from Quentin Kidd at CNU and Larry Sabato at the UVA Miller Center, and courtesy of Bill Bartel at the Virginian-Pilot:
“It’s just stupid. Not to sound too sophomoric to use the word ‘stupid.’ But it really is,” said Quentin Kidd, director of Christopher Newport University’s Wason Center for Public Policy.
“It’s not difficult for somebody to check on… The obligation is on you to know your facts.”
Larry Sabato, a University of Virginia political science professor, said the problem of people pumping up their resumes with questionable or inaccurate citations has become rampant for employers.
“Not so much in politics” because opponents or the news media are going to check, Sabato said.
Ouch x2… -wenty.
It’s not even really a question of pumping up one’s resume. This is a question of fabricating one’s work experience from whole cloth.
Safe to say, McCollum really ought to consider hanging up the gloves.
