While the Democratic Party of Virginia would prefer to focus on non-existent wedge issues, the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) is rolling-up its sleeves and getting ready for the 2016 campaign.
In a move that shows a dedication to directly combatting the perceived advantage Democrats have in “campaign data”, RPV is partnering with the Republican National Committee at opening an interactive data center for the commonwealth.
“The new Data Center comes with a user-friendly interface, mapping features and live support. With these tools we can provide Republican units, activists and campaigns across the Commonwealth with the data they need to win,” said John Findlay, the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Virginia. “This Data Center will help us elect Republicans up and down the ticket in 2016.”
Microtargeting is not a new concept, but perceptions of RPV data missteps, particularly with previous iterations are well-known within party circles.
Kudos to RPV for taking this step. Hopefully this new program helps identify conservatives, inform them about their choices, and motivate them to vote for Republicans.
