In what looks to be a barn burner of a race, Senator Bryce Reeves (R-Spotsylvania) posts a massive haul that was only raised in a very short amount of time (due to the Legislative Session). Senator Reeves brought in over $170,000 in total contributions, with cash on hand being over $455,000 dollars. That number does include over 125 individual donors.
Campaign Manager Brit McKenzie had this to say:
“The first quarter of 2015 has been good to Team Reeves. Our campaign has received overwhelming support in the beginning months of our re-election efforts, and with merely 44 days to raise funds this quarter Friends of Bryce Reeves will be posting over $170,000 dollars in total contributions.”“With less than 7 months until Election Day, our campaign is building the momentum and resources needed to be victorious. On top of sterling fundraising levels, we are contacting voters and initiating relentless grassroots efforts.”
This is a massive haul for what is a very tough district to run in. Most of you will remember that Reeves only won this district by less than 400 votes in 2013. This is a tough district not just geographically but also demographically, so its great to see Reeves succeed in this district.
To put this in to perspective, the amount of money raised by Senator Reeves in close to a month is more than Congressman Dave Brat and Congresswoman Barbara Comstock had on hand as of the end of December 2014, COMBINED. At the same time, if you combined Brat’s, Comstock’s, Morgan Griffith’s , and Scott Rigell’s cash on hand as of the end of 2014, you would still be short of what Senator Reeves currently has cash on hand. Needless to say, Senator Reeves is in good shape.
Bryce Reeves represents all of Fredericksburg City and Orange County. He also represents parts of Albemarle County, Culpeper County, Louisa County Orange County, and Spotsylvania County. He holds an MPA in Public Policy from George Mason University and he is a veteran of the United States Army Rangers. He lives in Spotsylvania County with his wife and two children, and works as an Insurance Agent.
Hats off to their campaign, it looks like its going to be a great year for Reeves.
