Another departure from the RPV, this time my friend Garren Shipley:
The spokesman for the Republican Party of Virginia will announce Friday that he is leaving to take a job that will allow him more time with his young family.
Garren was one of, if not the, hardest working reporter in Capitol Square before taking the party communications job. He did unconventional things like read the entire state budget, and was actively engaging bloggers when the rest of the press corps was still trying to figure out what the whole Internet-thingy was about.
He has been an invaluable resource for me over the years — and a good friend. Filling his shoes will be no easy task.
