Today’s lead story in the Virginian-Pilot is about how a joint tax planning panel has not been able to find a way to close tax loopholes. On the homepage of pilotonline.com, the paper teases the story as follows:
“The panel, led by state Sen. Jeff McWaters, shown, has voted to retain five big tax breaks that together reduce state revenue by some $1.7 billion a year”
Catch that?
Government keeps its hands off the cash and in the economy, yet the Pilot is presenting this as if it’s a bad thing.
Nuance, folks. It matters.
