That’s right. There must be a war brewing between the Senate Democrats and the Democratic Governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe.
Despite McAuliffe’s insistence that the General Assembly keep working, going so far as calling a special session to do so, the Senate Democrats thumbed their nose at the governor and left Richmond.
After doing a procedural driveby on Monday, the Senate Democrats decided to shut down until April.
McAuliffe must be hopping mad. Imagine a Governor calling his very first Special Session and having members of his own Party show up, wave and then leave town.
I’ll be watching today for McAuliffe to make a big statement telling his fellow Democrats to pay attention to him and when he calls a Special Session, he really means it.
If he doesn’t, then what’s to stop the House from going home too?
