Republican nominee John Whitbeck is on the air with his first ad on the 33rd Senate District race to replace Mark Herring and he takes aim at both Democrat Jennifer Wexton – who recently compared the Tea Party to rapists because, you know, she genuinely believes it – and Independent Joe May – who was a Republican as a Delegate, lost in a primary last year, then bailed out of the Republican nomination process for the 33rd Senate when they passed on a primary.
Whitbeck needs to push May (or let May veer on his own) to the left and hope that he doesn’t drain Republican support in what is already an uphill district for the GOP. Coming out strong and putting May into the same camp as Wexton is a good start.
The special election for the 33rd Senate District will take place on January 21st.
