Smarting from the Northern Virginia Technology Council PAC giving its endorsement to Ken Cuccinelli, Terry McAuliffe is committing time and personal effort to woo the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce for its endorsement. The Fairfax Chamber will host a debate between McAuliffe and Ken Cuccinelli on September 25th. It is the only debate that will be broadcast on statewide television.
The reason McAuliffe is taking a personal role in the lobbying effort is simple: he needs to show the Northern Virginia business community is behind him and cannot afford to lose another, major endorsement. If the Fairfax Chamber snubs him, his campaign narrative crumbles.
I suggest he could spend his time more fruitfully by preparing for the debate. Unless he’s keen on repeating his performance before the NVTC.
