Breaking news over at Pilot on Politics:
Former Beach School Board member Patrick Salyer announced Tuesday morning he’s suspending his campaign for the 85th House District, a Kempsville-based territory.
His one sentence statement cited “emergent family concerns” as the reason for that decision.

The other candidates in the race include attorney and longtime GOP activist Gary C. Byler, former Navy SEAL Scott Taylor, and Regent University employee Jeremy Waters.
I would anticipate this to be the first of many announcements on the GOP side, either running or choosing not to run in the wake of the transportation tax hike debacle.
