The state GOP had planned to announce Reedy’s hire next week, but the news leaked early — a comment posted on the Bearing Drift blog Thursday said a new exeutive director had been hired, without naming anyone.
Friday morning, sources told us Reedy was the pick; Virginia GOP officials didn’t respond to our inquiries about that during the day.
Then Mullins’ statement was released by e-mail.
Sorry about that one, Pat.
Reedy takes over for Dave Rexrode, the outgoing state party director who joined the party staff after working on Gov. Bob McDonnell’s 2009 campaign.
So there you have it — Bearing Drift ruins Christmas (again).
