In his Two Minute Drill, Jim Hoeft wonders about how we vote. Not for whom we vote, but the regulations and processes by which we cast ballots. There have been proposals for “no excuses” absentee voting. Some states conduct their ballots entirely by mail. And, sure enough, the idea of voting by email is gaining traction, too. Most folks, though, will wait their turn in line to vote. It’s a patchwork system — one that the Founders envisioned.
It’s also a system that works, even if the outcomes aren’t always to our liking.
