For an upcoming book-signing, First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) Michelle Obama, will require ID Cards and social security numbers before she will apply her “John Hancock” to the inside cover. From Obama Foodorama:
On Friday, June 8th, those wishing to attend the event must purchase a copy of the First Lady’s book at the location and leave it at the store, according to the employee. At the same time, customers must also submit their social security number and show an official photo ID (driver’s license, passport) to a Secret Service agent, and they will be issued a wristband to the First Lady’s event on June 12.
Given the propensity of liberals to jump all over conservatives who would like to ensure a fair election by having voters provide some form of identification that they are, indeed, a resident of the voting district, one would think that Al Sharpton or Rachel Maddow will be rushing with their cameramen in tow to the White House residence to demand why FLOTUS would infringe upon Americans first amendment rights to speech!
Okay, so it isn’t a perfect analogy. I know. Access to FLOTUS at a book-signing is not exactly the same as casting your ballot.
I’m writing this very tongue-in-cheek.
But, still, it does show the hypocrisy of the left…quick to ask for your ID for a book-signing, but could care less who you are for the vote. Yet, I am convinced the left are still more inclined to ask for your “papers” than the right.
