You Know What I Love About Democrats?
By | Monday, February 13th, 2012 | Politics, Virginia

That all of these bills passing the House and Senate in Richmond are all — in equal ways — an assault/rape/violation/attack/the end of civilization.

The rhetoric is just mind-numbing… or maybe that’s the ideology rubbing off?

What’s happening in Richmond is mind-numbing.
Almost as if Pat Robertson were governor.

Well, yes it is mind-numbing. Assuming that it numbs your mind to stop illegal aliens, I mean undocumented Democrats, from voting. Assuming that it numbs your mind to think that local governments acting on campaign contributions and outright bribes from wealthy developers can’t seize your family home and sell it off for a fraction of its market worth. Assuming that somehow an arbitrary limit on handgun sales will stop NYPD cops from running guns in New York.

    Yeah, pretty mind-numbing.

Why is it that every comment I read from Mormor causes an involuntary shake of my head?

    Nausea?

    Alton

Maybe early onset of senility. Rocking chair next?

What the Dems conveniently forget is that all these bills – gun rights, abortion regulation, etc. – have been introduced year after year by Republicans. This is just the first year there’s been enough votes in the Senate for them to pass. This isn’t a sudden flood of extreme right wing social policies sweeping away the Old Dominion. These are the same tired bills that have come up year after year. Only difference is, this year they’re getting all the way through.

Not only that, Ann, but they’re also such a small part of the total effort. Government reform, energy, transportation, budget, job creation, education, Virginia Retirement System, etc.

And, if Democrats had control what would we see? Bills about expanding abortion rights, limiting the 2nd Amendment, persecuting religious liberty, giving everyone at least a month to vote absentee, etc.

The media is bored. They’re looking for a story. And they’re buying into the Democratic meme hook, line and sinker.

It’s a shame that our media has grown so predictable.

Republicans would be reacting the exact same way if the roles were reversed.

When you are completely marginalized, can’t stop anything, and can’t get anything you want done without getting Republican support, all you can do is blow hot air and pray for press coverage.
