It’s an historic day in Virginia where HB 947 — the “Tebow Bill” — passed the House of Delegates on Wednesday on a vote of 59-39. More information later on those who voted for and against but it will now cross over to the Senate side of the Capitol where it faces a much tougher government body. With the Senate evenly divided, and with known opponents to homeschooling, homeschoolers have their work cut out for them as they begin to make phone calls and send emails to their state senators.
Many thanks to Del. Rob Bell (R-Albemarle) for sponsoring the bill, as well as Gov. Bob McDonnell, the Family Foundation, HEAV, and Organization for Virginia Homeschoolers for their work on encouraging its passage. Now it’s time to get back to the the phones….
