BREAKING: Former Henrico CA Candidate Matt Geary Pronounced Dead

Matt Geary, the former GOP nominee for the Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney, was found dead today from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, confirmed Henrico Police Chief Doug Middleton.
Earlier today the Henrico Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Lauderdale Drive for reports of shots fired. The victim was found in the living room. No one else was inside the house, said officials.
Geary was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The police have not confirmed this is a suicide, but Lt. Maxwell said that the wound appears to be self-inflicted.

“A damn shame” doesn’t begin to describe it. Clearly, a man with some serious difficulties.
Many prayers for the family. Our family and community were devastated by a 20 year old taking his life recently. We all thought, “If he had only let us know how he was feeling we would have helped him, stopped him, and he would still be here today”. Maybe we could or maybe we couldn’t, but that’s how we all feel. Many, many prayers for the family and friends.
This is horribly sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
My job is to prevent people from committing suicide. I commit them, sign them up for treatment, or do whatever is necessary for them to clear their heads before making such an irrevocable decision. That being said, I feel we have the right to make our own decisions in the end. I just hope Matt knew how much he was loved. I pray he can see it now.
