Marshall challenges Allen for GOP Senate nomination
By | Thursday, January 12th, 2012 | Catch-All

Bob Marshall

The rumors were true:  Del. Bob Marshall (R-Prince William) has made it official – He is running for Senate.

Marshall’s entry into this race for the Republican nomination pretty much crowds out the other challengers to George Allen who have been running for months, E.W. Jackson, David McCormick, etc.

The question now is whether Marshall is a serious contender or is running for the purpose of drawing attention to his Personhood Amendment to the Virginia Constitution.

When Tim Donner said that the republican support was so largely behind Allen that it would have to be an ego-driven motive to be in the race, did he mean it?

Ken, what are smoking and where can I get some? Just who or what is “etc.”? That is the most irritating and lame catch all that means what? “Etc”? really. Please define “etc.”

@Craig – “Etc.” is an abbreviation for “et cetera,” which is a Latin expression that means “and other things” or “and so forth.”

In the words of Austin Powers, “Yeah, baby!”

I backed Marshall in 2008, and will again.

VA Patriot, I take your question to mean that you are backing Allen.

    @Sara:

No, you should take it for what it is…Donner’s actual comments.

Well, VA Patriot, good try dude. LOL!

If Marshall had done this a year ago the race might look very different today. But at this late date, I’m not sure he can have much impact.

  10. Mike McKay January 13, 2012 13:35 pm

Sure Marshall will have a impact. He will make sure that any slim chance that Radtke had is gone.

George Allen is the only Republican candidate that can win the general election. This is not one of those situations where we have a RINO, Allen is a good conservative. The case here is that the kooks want another kook or some nut as their nominee. Now I like Bob Marshall, but this is not his race.

  12. Bill Goose January 13, 2012 14:56 pm

Also, just got a fundraising letter from the Cooch. Says he is running for Gov. He is someone else who will lose if he gets the nomination, so if it is going to be Cooch, we should participate in the Dem primary so at least we get to vote on who will be the next Gov. I do not challenge that Cooch could get the nomination, but rather my challenge is that he will lose the general election and lose it bad.

  13. Steve Vaughan January 13, 2012 15:00 pm

Mike: Since I don’t think Radtke had even a slim chance, that’s zero impact.

  14. Steve Vaughan January 13, 2012 15:06 pm

Goose: Depends on two things. 1. Who wins the White House this year. 2. Who’s the Democratic nominee…I don’t see anybody unbeatable on thier bench.

  15. Tom January 13, 2012 20:06 pm

I agree with Steve. The democrats do not have any really good candidates to run against Cuccinelli. He has been underestimated in every race he has ever run, I expect that will not change in the next two years. I will rather enjoy sitting back and watching everyone get proven wrong again.

98 votes in last real election and his senate seat fell. He was carried on coat tails. If he at top of ticket then all will fail and cooch shown as a goat.

  17. WilliamDGoose January 14, 2012 14:41 pm

As for as the deems, they could run anyone and beat cooch. I mean anyone, a nutless monkey could beat cooch in gov race.
