My dad’s encounter with Willie Mays in Virginia
By | Saturday, December 31st, 2011 | Catch-All

Just a quick detour from our normal political fare here and a moment of personal privilege.

I just wanted to share this great story from my dad, who was born, raised, and lives in Michigan, regarding his time playing baseball for the Navy here in Norfolk.

A blog called, “Baseball by the Letters“, has been interviewing my dad and offers up this cool story of when my dad was playing at Fort Eustis in 1953 against Willie Mays.

Also, for interested baseball and especially Detroit Tigers’ fans, you should check out my dad’s blog for more of these stories and commentary on the game.
