Coalition to Protect Virginia Jobs: Taking on Greenpeace
By | Thursday, December 15th, 2011 | Energy independence

Out-of-state activist groups beware. If you hurt Virginia’s economy, Virginia is fighting back. Several organizations have banded together to form CPVJ, the Coalition to Protect Virginia Jobs. They’ll take on groups like Greenpeace who attack Virginia companies with bans and boycotts to advance their leftist political agendas.

“Greenpeace’s history is littered with economic collateral damage. Now the activist group has Virginia in its crosshairs,” said AFP-Virginia state director and CPVJ founding member Audrey Berkshire Jackson.

“Greenpeace is bullying leading retailers for offering American consumers high-quality, low-cost products made by Virginia’s own Mercury Paper Company. The more than 150 jobs and over $21 million the paper manufacturer has brought to our state are at stake.”

The Coalition includes Americans for Prosperity Virginia and the Virginia Tea Party Patriot Federation.

The Coalition has launched a website, protectvajobs.org, complete with Facebook and Twitter links.

Mark Lloyd, chairman of the Virginia Tea Party Patriot Federation added, “If Wal-Mart, Kroger and other retailers cave to the ‘green’ elite, we will lose even more well-paying jobs for Virginian workers.”

Greenpeace stirred trouble recently by calling for a ban on Mercury Paper, and LG Bill Bolling responded by defending the company against Greenpeace’s politically motivated attack. Bearing Drift reported this last month.

Personally, I’m tired of these international geek clubs like Greenpeace touting the global warming flag and attacking job creators and businesses. I’m glad these organizations are standing up to them.

Greenpeace still has as its stated goal American disarmament and to “stop global warming” by ending US use of coal and oil. Nevermind, the earth has been cooling for the last decade. They still oppose American drilling offshore for oil and natural gas.

These internationalists aren’t looking out for America, and they sure aren’t looking out for Virginia. They don’t care about the economy or jobs. They care about their own geopolitical goals, and if we wind up unemployed, well, that’s less fossil fuels we’ll need, right?

Thanks the CPVJ for standing up for Virginia!

I thought this company was a Communist Chinese owned company. Didn’t think it was owned by anyone in Virginia, just that the state gave it tax breaks to move here.

Asia Pulp and Paper Co., which is a part of Indonesian conglomerate Sinar Mas, is the parent company of Virginia’s own Mercury Paper Company. I am too lazy to find out who owna Sinar Mas. I mean, who cares?

Greenpeace and Sinar Mas are always fighting. The deal with Virginia’s own Mercury Paper Company concerns rainforest habitats in Sumatra. Also tigers, rhinos and orangutans. I guess the activities of Virginia’s own Mercury Paper Company must be causing problems with Virginia’s rainforest habitats and native populations of tigers, rhinos and orangutans.

I am with Greenpeace on this one.
I would like to help the Virginia Orangutan.
I would propose the building of something like Port Warwick in Newport News to house the Virginia Orangutans. Bet if we claim that it is all the fault of man-made CO2, Barry would give us 2 or 3 billion in Federal Loans.

Actually Greenpeace is trying to “shakedown” Sinar Mas in the best traditions of the Mafia. “Protection Money”. Greenpeace and other similiar groups are quite good at this.

    Speaking of “shakedowns”

make your check payable to “Virginia Line Media” and send to:

or just send a twenty dollar bill.

I’m not positive, but I’m reasonably sure there isn’t a single paid greenpeace staffer working in Virginia. When you google greenpeace va this opposition coalition pretty much owns the front page of the google search.

Maybe making a mountain out of a molehill?
