I just finished David Morrell’s novel, “The Spy Who Came For Christmas”. It’s a unique spy novel, very little profanity, most of which is in Russian, minimal violence for a spy novel, and an interesting tale, (Biblically correct),about the Magi and Joseph from a spy’s perspective. I wholeheartedly recommend it, and several people, friends and family, are going to find it under their tree.

Atkinson’s book really needs a second edition covering 1980 to the present. It is an excellent read.

Another worthy book on Virginia politics would be “When Hell Froze Over” by Dwayne Yancey on the rise of Doug Wilder.
A nice fictionalization of Virginia politics is the “The Shad Treatment.”
There’s also an outstanding biography of Harry F. Byrd that came out a few years ago.
