(Update by JR; 9:15 p.m.) Dave Johnson Out At Radtke?
By | Tuesday, November 29th, 2011 | Politics, Virginia

Dave Johnson, currently the campaign manager with Jamie Radtke for U.S. Senate, has been floating his resume around unsolicited to various firms in Richmond, according to a source on background.

Thus far, Radtke’s campaign has been floundering after a $250K start last year.  Since that time, Radtke has been hounded by Tea Party infighting, polls in the single digits, and an unwillingness to debate anyone but former Governor George Allen to the point of sidestepping a Shenandoah Tea Party debate last month.

Radtke’s campaign is $85,472 in debt and only $43,163 on hand as of the last FEC filing.

DEVELOPING…

Update from J.R. Hoeft:

Had a chance to chat with Jamie Radtke tonight. She says that Johnson is in the same status on the campaign that he has been since August.

She states unequivocally, “I can tell you this, Dave is staying on the campaign. He isn’t going anywhere!”

Apparently there was something lost in the communication with the Washington Post’s Anita Kumar who is reporting Johnson’s resignation, even though Jamie says she was in the room during the phone interview.

However, Johnson has been in an a reduced status since August due to personal concerns and nothing performance or campaign related.

He had better line up a new job quickly before all of Herman Cain’s people become available later today. Of course, at least Cain’s staff were getting paid.

What? Jamie Worry? By golly she won a BD poll last week with 298 votes. Who needs money and a campaign staff with that kind of support? Seriously, she needs to go away.

Maybe Dave Johnson can find work for the rest of Radtke’s campaign staff. They will all be looking for work after the primary.

What? No denial from the Radtke folks? Wow.

Hmm I just think someone got a bucket of water thrown on them and their Senate race. :)

Dave Johnson out? Un, don’t think so.. Call Dave then report the news. This is what happens when what was not news in August becomes recycled news in November. Can’t make this stuff up. This is a hit job on Jamie… Yeah, pile on the tea party people like good establishment tools.

I heard that Bearing Drift has been working with John McCain and the GOP to push the benefits of amnesty.

    Developing…

Good catch Willie. It’s obvious Jamie cant pay her bills, so now he’s a “consultant” who happens to be shopping his resume around for a new job. Dave is a good guy who clearly got mixed up in the wrong race after running John Brownlee’s race against Cuccinelli.

We go with two sources and double-check every story like this. You don’t want to believe it, your choice. I stand by Shaun’s report.

Oops. It really sucks when Die Fuhrer leaves the storm troopers out of the loop. How embarrassing.

I believe Dave. Don’t ask the man, just spin it.

“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”

Dave Johnson was signing releases for Radtke as Campaign Manager at least through mid-September a quick Google search reveals.

I don’t see what the big deal is if he was floating his resume. Campaigns only last a year or two. Isn’t it normal for someone who is supporting a fabulous candidate as Jamie Radtke, future U.S. Senator from Virginia, to use such an inspiring win to get himself more work once he is done helping her get elected to the U.S. Senate ? Jamie Radtke will be too busy cutting spending, balancing the budget, and bringing sanity back to Congress in her new position as U.S. Senator to be focused on her next campaign, so it seems like he would have nothing to do if he doesn’t find a job before she has been swept on a tidal wave of voter enthusiasm into the Senate. Like they say, make hay while the sun shines, and the sun is going to be shining very bright when Mrs. Radtke wins this election.

And as recently as a Nov 10th release from the campaign accepting the RPV debates…

    Temporary,

How long did it take you to build the little world that you live in? And were the rainbows and unicorns included in the first estimate or an additional expense?

Rocky nothing is free in this world, it was all extra //grin//
