On the air with Chris Horner and Rep. Randy Forbes
By Norman Leahy | Saturday, November 19th, 2011 | Podcasts, Politics, VirginiaOn this podcast edition of “The Score” radio show…
Scott Lee talks with the American Tradition Institute’s Chris Horner about ongoing the Freedom of Information Act tussle ATI is having with the University of Virginia over former Prof. Michael Mann’s emails…what it means to be considered a “climate criminal”…and which of the GOP presidential candidates are acolytes of the church of global warming.
Scott also has a wide-ranging discussion with 4th district Rep. Randy Forbes on the congressional supercommittee (which may be slouching toward a smaller deal on deficit reduction) and what could happen to Virginia’s economy if a government-wide sequester is the final result. Plus, the ongoing campaign in defense of the national motto, and whether congressional insider trading is as rampant as “60 Minutes” would have us believe.
Also joining Scott is Lee Talley, the winner of Bearing Drift’s election contest. Lee tells us how he beat the pros and correctly picked election night’s winners (hint: it was old-fashioned research).
“The Score” is Bearing Drift radio, and can be heard on these broadcast stations and online talk networks in addition to being available on demand, right here at Bearing Drift.

I think that this edition of “The Score” radio show was really outstanding.
Sadly I do disagree with Scott Lee and Chris Horner concerning world population. There really are too many humans on mother earth. However between global water shortages and antibiotic resistant infections, perhaps that may change.
Can anyone explain what is a “global temperature” ??
Explain what it is and how one obtains that number.
If you think in terms of regional climate change rather then global, things start to make sense.
Would think that it might be necessary for Virginia to do a little “revenue enhancement”.
A number of over-the-counter medicines are now tax free. Really should charge 5% on them. Even food is taxed at 2.5%…. And besides no one would even notice.
However a sales tax on prescription drugs might raise a fair amount of tax revenue. I would start at 1% since should be a few unhappy campers on that one. However with 2.5% on food, should not be too much of a problem.
The Curse of Barry ?????
Not too long ago, Barry was in Spain praising the Spanish Socialist government.
Speaking to ecstatic supporters after Spain’s biggest election victory for 30 years, in which his centre-right People’s Party crushed the discredited outgoing Socialist government, Mr Rajoy said he would immediately consult all the country’s regions to discuss how to overcome the crisis. He has promised a tough package of austerity measures and reforms.
Climate scientists have asked for 3 trillion in new funding to study the relationship between the “Barry Effect” and the now famous “Al Gore Effect”. A consenus of leading climate scientists say that for only 4 trillion more in funding, they will blame anything you want for causing these effects.
Meanwhile in England.
In a withering assault on the onshore wind turbine industry, the Duke of Windsor said the farms were “a disgrace”.
He also criticised the industry’s reliance on subsidies from electricity customers, claimed wind farms would “never work” and accused people who support them of believing in a “fairy tale”.
The Duke’s views are politically charged, as they put him at odds with the Government’s policy significantly to increase the amount of electricity generated by wind turbines.
