Staunton Veterans Parade … ROLLING THUNDER
By Lynn R. Mitchell | Saturday, November 12th, 2011 | Virginia World War II vet with Vietnam vets.
The streets of downtown Staunton roared with the sound of Rolling Thunder.
POW-MIA … they are not forgotten.
Thank you for your service to our country. As long as Rolling Thunder rolls, Vietnam will not be forgotten.

GREAT pictures !!!
Thanks for posting this, Lynn. BTW, can I insert a message about the Patriot Guard Riders? We are a national organization of motorcycle riders, mostly Harley Davidsons but not exclusively and mostly military veterans but we welcome all patriots. We were originally formed to serve as counter-protesters to the Westboro Baptist Church wackos who were demonstrating at the funerals of fallen military heros. Today we ride for any military funeral as well as to escort Wounded Warriors returning home and send-off and welcome home parades for military units, active, Guard, and Reserve. We have two simple rules: first, we never ride unless we are invited to, never soliciting anyone to be allowed to participate. Second, we never refuse a request, even if the weather is so bad that we can’t ride our iron horses and have to use four-wheel cages. Check us out at:

Thanks.
Rocky, I am very familiar with the Patriot Guard Riders and respect all of you. They stood guard outside the funeral home of a local Marine who was killed in Iraq — darkness fell and they still stood holding American flags — and then they stood guard outside the church during the funeral.
In various areas they have escorted heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Chaz Evans-Haywood in Harrisonburg is often with them in the Northern Shenandoah Valley.
Thank you for what you all do for our military heroes.
