APCO swings back at Armstrong
By | Monday, November 7th, 2011 | Southside, Virginia

House minority leader is currently trapped inside the sinking hulk that was his political career. Unwilling to go down alone, Armstrong has tried to take Appalachian Power with him. So strident have his (false) charges against the company become, that APCO president Charles Patton sent a letter to shareholders that states in part:

“There is little doubt that Del. Armstrong’s relentless attacks on our company are having an effect on our reputation.”

The company has created a website to refute Ward’s lies and, perhaps, rescue its reputation.

It’s a sound move. Perhaps the company should also ask Armstrong to return the campaign donations it has made to him over the years to cover the cost of the website.

Politicians beating up on companies is nothing new. Politicians who continue to throw punches even after their charges have been exposed as false is not necessarily new, either.

When the votes are counted tomorrow, Armstrong will very likely be finished as a member of the House of Delegates. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Except Ward is still intent on running for statewide office in 2013 — perhaps for Attorney General.

Companies that have played footsie with leftists are liable to get their toes singed. I don’t want to hear their moaning. I want them to work against leftism in any party because their survival (and American prosperity) depends on it. Maybe they are beginning to understand there is a difference between liberals and leftists. The liberals have almost all been kicked out of the Dem party. They are all leftists now unless proved otherwise.

Armstrong has bring lying and has started to do actual damage to a company – endangering the livelihoods of thousands of employees. This is not some big bad corporation, this is a company that has a long history in the area, employing thousands of people – many are union jobs – and armstrong is endangering everyone of them. Good for Patton.

Ward Armstrong is one of those southside democrats, who some folks say are conservative and really just like Republicans. Definitely not true of that.

Is Ward Armstrong also a homosexual? Nothing bad about it if he is, I am just asking.
