On this special, election-eve edition of “The Score” radio show…

Scott leads off with Phil Van Cleave, who heads-up the Virginia Citizens Defense League, on the topic of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s latest foray into Virginia’s elections, this time on behalf of anti-gun Democrats. Also, a report on the VCDL’s trip to ODU, which has decided to ban guns on campus.

Turning to the wider political picture, Scott has a wide-ranging discussion with Gov. Bob McDonnell about Tuesday’s General Assembly elections and how a GOP Senate majority will help him implement a pro-growth, smaller government agenda. McDonnell wants to get things done — on the budget, on government and education reform and more. He believes having a fiscally conservative majority will help him reach those goals and serve as a model for other states. Plus, a look at the presidential contest, the national political mood, a little vice presidential talk and a lot more.

Scott then talks with Rep. Eric Cantor, the House majority leader. The focus is on jobs — what the House has done, repeatedly and on a bipartisan basis, to jump-start the economy and remove government impediments to growth and job creation. The problem, though, is the Democrat-controlled Senate, where the House’s efforts languish on the shelf (for a more detailed view on the current status of the House’s bills, check out the Jobs Tracker website). Plus, Mr. Cantor’s view of the General Assembly races and the ongoing work of the congressional super committee, which is running closer to the deadline for finding $1.2 trillion in budget savings.

“The Score” is Bearing Drift radio, and can be heard on these broadcast stations and online talk networks in addition to being available on demand, right here at Bearing Drift.
