Red State Revolution?
By | Sunday, October 23rd, 2011 | Economics, Politics, Virginia

An article in Forbes magazine by Merrill Matthews raises a very interesting point concerning the balance of power in this country with regards to the states. His opinion is that the future is red.

He makes some points worth considering. The balance of power is shifting on the state level.  Traditionally, the Democratic party held some local sway in the South, yet that power is waining as many of those old school Democrats are either retiring, being retired, or becoming Republicans (i.e. Rick Perry). However, this is not the only factor that is shifting power.

The article correctly intimates that the actual management or mismanagement of states can cause people to vote with their feet. It is no wonder then that states like California and New York are losing population while states like Texas and Georgia are gaining them. An encourgaging factor in all of this is that Virginia is to be counted among the states that are gaining influence. This is due to the fact that Virginia has advanced economically and has been well managed. The clout is evident in the fact that Virginia led the way in challenging the Constitutionality of Obamacare.

McDonnell’s governorship has provided a sharp contrast to the mismanagement of states like California, can the same be said of Governor Kaine’s term?

Another thing to consider is how this newfound red state clout will impact national policy in coming decades.

Bear in mind that blue state refugees don’t necessarily stop being leftists in their new location. They have a thousand rationalizations as to why leftism didn’t work in the place they left behind, not one of which is that the problem lies with leftism.

And those red states are overwhelmingly subsidized by the federal taxes paid by residents of blue states. It’s amazing that red states keep biting the hand that feeds them.

It’s interesting how leftists like Tor and MB operate. Obama does the same thing. He goes around stating something factually misleading or outright false. Then he’s called out on it and goes silent for a week or on rare occasions mumbles some acknowledgment. Then after a short space he goes right back to saying the same misstatements. The first time I suppose one must give him the benefit of the doubt. The second time no such indulgence need be offered.

Virginia has a history that caused her to become the mother of FF presidents.
That history still shows within the extraordinary beauty of Virginia’s constituion and statutes.
Virginia’s law is still enables her to save the constitutional republic of the United States if she will first save herself from the custom of cavalier conceits of authority whose toxic culture came to the ‘Old Dominion’ with refugees from the English Civil War.
Virginia appears to be the only state that has a law equivalent to VA18.2-481(5) where ‘Resisting the execution of the laws under the color of its authority’ is defined as ‘Statutory Treason’.
In 1619 slavery had no lawful basis under the English common law written upon the hearts of its people – Slavery in Virginia started as no more than the cavalier criminal conceit of ‘Our law will not protect you – as far as you are concerned I am the law’. That purely criminal evil is still with us and is conclusively evidened by EVERY office of our courts – Yet, if confronted and pardoned by our Governor upon the penitent virtue of toothy parole oath that evil may be removed from Virginia’s future.
Yes, and even our country’s future because every Virginia federal judge is still a memeber of the Virginia Bar , still an officer of the courts of Virginia, and so deemed by the presumptions of Virginia law to professionally know the law so that they must recognize VA18.2-481(5) felony when it occurs and so are conclusively evidenced as having at LEAST criminally perpetrated felony VA18.2-482 ‘Misprision of Treason’.
ALL such offiers must plead for pardon or eventually be condemned by our law – under God – that requires that ALL felony, and conditions that foster felony, be presented to a grand jury until the felony is properly judged. Our Governor’s pardon is the best and only way out of the felony condemnation due every lawyer and judge in Virginia, INCLUDING Virginia’s federal judges!

‘Constitution Reset’ naturally cascading from Virginia can gently and gracefully save our country.

The Question that remains is ‘Does Virgina still have the heart to raise leaders ready to face God.’

    Val,

    1. Nothing of what I said was misleading or false. Do you care to actually tell me what I said was wrong?

    2. I’ve been asking for someone, anyone to show any numbers proving otherwise. If you claim that what I’ve said is false then show how the percentages of taxes paid by residents of blue states compared to the percent of federal expenditures received in return, and compare that to the amount paid by red states compared to the federal spending in those states. I can’t wait for you to point out the outliers and use that as an example for my error.

Would you like to see the numbers again or were you simply unable to comprehend the information? In case you’d like to take another look I’ve included a few links.

    From the Economist – http://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2011/08/americas-fiscal-union

    From Visualizing Economics – http://visualizingeconomics.com/2010/02/17/federal-taxes-paidreceived-for-each-state/

From the Tax Foundation – http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/266.html

    Here’s a 2008 map for you – http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/map.html

If you disagree with any of those, I’m sure that you’ll have accurate and cited numbers up by the afternoon.

    3. I don’t think I’ve ever gone into hiding or gone silent for a week. After a post has been up for a few days and defiantly by week’s end I’ve generally moved on. I know that might be hard for someone caught up wearing a three pointed hat…but you’re going to have to accept the reality of life at some point.

The ball is in your court Val, let’s see what you can do with it. Show me how

And if you want something more academic you can try these links – http://citation.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_citation/1/3/8/4/5/p138457_index.html or http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1451268 both of which I got from this liberal blog post that might cause you to aneurism http://blogs.alternet.org/speakeasy/2010/04/18/red-state-moochers-federal-taxes-favor-those-who-complain-the-most-about-federal-taxes/ , enjoy!

You’ve had all day Val, don’t have anything yet? What’s taking you so long?

I figured someone who thinks they’re as smart as you think you are would already have something up. I guess you’re just not as smart as you think you are.
