Puller still supports the President who frustrates her so
By | Friday, October 21st, 2011 | Northern Virginia, Politics, Virginia

Democratic Senator “Toddy” Puller is in the race of her career against Republican Jeff Frederick, and the stress is starting to show.

In an October 17th WaPo piece on how incumbent Democratic senators were distancing themselves from the President as his magical mystery tour wound its way, selectively, through Virginia, Anita Kumar quoted Puller as saying:

“He’s frustrating me, just like he’s frustrating others out there.’’

Since that burst of pre-election candor, Puller now tells Anita a somewhat different story:

“I’m still a strong supporter of Obama,’’ she said in a follow-up interview this week. “I’m sorry (Washington issues are) interfering with this year’s campaigns.”

And unlike Democratic Sen. Phil Puckett, who has gone to some lengths to say that he will not support the President next year, Puller says:

“I am planning to vote for him, always have.’’

Nice to have that cleared up.

Here is Frederick’s new television ad. It’s one of those spots that, on the surface, is as gauzy as can be. But the subtext features more sharp elbows than a New Jersey Devils game. See if you can pick out a few. It’s not difficult:

Not sure what the point here is. Leftists have a totally different approach to politics than non-leftists. They believe with a fair amount of justification that schadenfreude and class warfare will eventually crush everything else, no matter the temporary temper tantrums of the hoi polloi. Look at Europe and most countries around the world. The leftists also know that they have plenty of places to go about their little business – in media, the courts, the schools, the 501c3s that are political groups no matter the legal prohibitions. Laws are just something to be used when convenient and ignored when not. Ms. Puller and others of her ilk are not going to blow their “business opportunities” just because their leaders make them walk the plank. Even Puckett is not bothering Obama a bit. As long as he wins and votes for the leftists one more time all is forgiven. look at Manchin in WV. They and their families will be given a nice consolation prize somewhere else. Its only conservatives (and the Founding Fathers) who think all this should be a 9-5 job by people with a life.
