On the air with Mickey Chohany and Tom Garrett
By Norman Leahy | Saturday, September 24th, 2011 | Podcasts, Politics, VirginiaOn this podcast edition of “The Score” radio show…
Scott Lee talks with Mickey Chohany and Tom Garrett, the GOP nominees, respectively, for the 1st and 22nd Senate districts about their campaigns, the issues they are addressing on the trail and the general mood of the electorate.
And Scott and I talk about tolls on I-95 and the scheduled December between the U.S. Senate candidates…or at least the ones the press will allow on stage.
“The Score” can be heard on these broadcast radio stations and online talk networks.

Mickey sounds beat-up. I can’t stand this RINO. Mickey’s mailings look like all the other moderate do-nothing politicians. Isn’t this the guy who raised taxes in Williamsburg and has two failed restaurants in Newport News and Hampton? There has to be another option for Conservative voters.
Chohany’s a puppet of Tommy “Conflict of Interest” Norment. I don’t trust either of them. Someone told me there is a write-in candidate for the 1st district; I think it’s who ran in ’07 although I can’t remember his name. Does anyone know of a Conservative write-in candidate?
Interesting campaign tactic by Miller – get folks to attempt to discredit Chohany on a conservative website using fake names.
Given the choice between Miller, who has advocated raising the gas tax three times and wants to install a mileage monitoring device in every vehicle for tax purposes (Hello, Big Brother!), and Chohany, an advocate for small business and job growth, this is an easy choice for voters in the 1st.
I should also mention that Chohany was not challenged in the GOP primary.
I’m not advocating for Miller. With two tax-raisers, I’m either sitting this out or writing someone else in. My principles are too important to vote for either liberal. I get both their mailings and they are both liberals!
Saw both Mickey and Ben Loyola with their tables side by side at the Hampton Gun Show today. I heard that the AG had some choice words for Ralph Northam and Miller at his fundraiser for Loyola. The fact that the Dem trolls are name calling and squealing again is proof that they are feeling their Senate majority slipping away.
I wish I lived in Loyola’s district. I wish I lived in Sen. Obenshain’s district. I live in the first district though. I will not alienate my fellow patriots and I will support a true conservative. I will support Tricia Stall for Senate.

I will never vote for a RINO, no matter what I’m called, and I do NOT support John Miller. and I do not support Mickey Chohany. I will not support anyone affiliated with that cheat and liar Tommy Norment. I refuse to be quiet about the left and I refuse to be quiet about moderates. The “Republican” Mickey Chohany is not getting my vote. Mr. Hoeft, are going to support a moderate like Chohany, or are you going to support a true Patriot Conservative? Are you a liberal or a conservative?

Coulda Woulda had a real conservative instead of Chohany.. We needed Bert
Bert shoulda, coulda but didn’t. He also shoulda, coulda but didn’t try to primary Allen.
Stall also coulda, woulda run in the GOP primary, but didn’t. Like it or not, we have a two party system, and we need a GOP majority so that people like Mark Obenshain can become a committee chairman instead of maintaining the status quo.
Stall won the primary in 2007, so I have no idea why she decided to not run this time. She would have my full support – if she won the nomination. She did not, so she does not have my support.
This election is too important for conservatives for games.
I think Mr. Obenshain would make a fine committee chairman. But he would be a far better majority leader, don’t you think?
I can think of a lot of leadership positions Sen. Obenshain would do a fine job at. The key is giving him a State Senate that he can work with. That won’t happen with a Democratic majority.
