WaPo: Why Report When You Can Regurgitate DPVA Talking Points?
By | Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 | Politics

In yet another example as to why people have lost faith in mainstream print publications, the Washington Post does a copy/paste job on DPVA talking points:

Virginia Democrats on Tuesday called this fall’s Republican candidates for state Senate “the most radical extreme slate in history.”

Democrats held a conference call with reporters in response to a story published in the Washington Post Monday that said some of the candidates want to end Social Security and Medicare, begin mandatory drug testing for welfare recipients and allow prayer on public property, including schools.

Watching the Washington Post report on the activities of Virginia Democrats is like giving yourself a high five.

Gimme a damn break.

Consider the source. This is the paper who routinely runs tear jerker articles about the plight of illegal aliens–uh, I mean “undocumented workers”–and has never covered a gun violence story without decrying the “lack” of gun control in Virginia. A problem, in the opinion of the Post, that causes all the gun violence in DC. No explanation as to why Virginia itself doesn’t have the same problem, except for Richmond and other local shit holes that strive to emulate DC.

The only thing standing between the Washington Post and bankruptcy is The Post Company’s cash cow called Kaplan University, a diploma mill that sells college degrees using Federal student loan programs that the taxpayers ultimately pay for because of the high default rate of their “graduates.” Few Kaplan students stick around to finish a degree and none of them obtain the job skills at Kaplan to come close to earning enough money to pay back their loans. If the Education Department ever fully cracks down on these fraudulent for-profit schools, then the Washington Post will go the way of other great newspapers who sold their soul and cut professional newsroom staff to try and remain relevant in the face of an obsolete business model.

Gee I thought Kaplan U was where WaPo got its reporter pool cheap. The great thing about lefties is that you can be ignorant and dumb but will appear brilliant to your fellow lefties just by parroting DNC talking points.

From Miami Herald “Fort Lauderdale-based Kaplan University was among the schools to come under fire Thursday in the halls of Congress as a Senate committee held the latest in a series of hearings examining for-profit colleges and universities.”
