Loyola has his priorities after storm
By JR Hoeft | Monday, August 29th, 2011 | PoliticsWhile most of us are concerned with cleaning up, restoring power, or, heaven forbid, rebuilding, 6th District Senate candidate Ben Loyola offers up this Facebook post:
Ben Loyola, 6th Senatorial District, Virginia
Once the storm has passed, if anyone needs a new Loyola yard sign please email Austin@BenLoyola.com and we will replace it.
Now that’s what I call a candidate with priorities!
(Disclaimer: we completely support Ben, and this post is written tongue-in-cheek. He sent out an extremely informative email to all supporters during the storm advising how to prepare and what resources would be available)

Funniest part of that post? The disclaimer…because heaven knows the more, um, zealous supporters (who have been REAL quiet lately) will jump all over this.
My sign is still up, despite the storm and the City of Norfolk destroying my street to drop a new sewer line.
From what I have heard, Loyola is walking the district neighborhoods door to door every day and is meeting a lot of the folks in the churches on Sunday. Apparently, he’s taken being the 6th district candidate seriously and is doing the hard work on the ground to get votes. But, it is a tough district for Republicans, especially after redistricting and he has to keep it up until the election. I imagine the Dems will start their ground and air assault against him and his campaign after Labor Day.
Go Ben Loyola!!!!

Tim J,
You are right. Ben is busting his **s every day, and your account above is correct times 10.
I wondered if others were paying attention that on Thursday, August 25th, Northam was asking for volunteers to go canvassing on Saturday and Loyola was only concerned about getting information out for the safety of citizens from the hurricane.
I expected no less from Loyola, but was surprised a doctor would put a campaign before the citizens.
Knowing folks in both camps I’d say that most of the info above is incorrect. Loyola is not walking just phone banking. He is thousands of doors behind Northam. After his walking team threatened to sue him over a more than $10K late payment, Loyola finally came through with a check. The campaign is run out of his vacant “apartment” and an office in a Byler building. The Governor is NOT going to play in his race. Total anarchy rules the roost. Sounds like a campaign on the rise to me.
RC, you discredit yourself in your own words. If Loyola is just phone banking and not walking as you say, then why would his non-walking, non-team sue? And if the Governor is NOT going to play in his race why did the Governor come and be the keynote speaker in Loyola’s kickoff breakfast I attended personally? In your own words, “Knowing folks in both camps I’d say that most of the info above is incorrect.”, you are the one incorrect.
By the way, I have proof of what I said. Do you?

Virginia has the 3rd largest state-maintained road network of any U.S. state, but dedicates less money to transportation than do 41 other states. This imbalance has the potential to cripple our economy.

Alexander Palmer Thank you Senator, maybe health care wouldn’t cost so much if people did more little things to prevent a big thing, than shelling out big bucks when that big thing needs to be cured.

This proves the point I made. Big difference in the two to me.
So personal this to you. Money is everything. The governor failed to give in the last period while giving to all of his targeted races. Hosting an event is all he could do. While they may have walked some before during the nomination contest that has not happened since. Wake up.
RC, I see you Northam trolls are finally starting to wake up. I was wondering when your idiocy would start.
