By | Tuesday, August 16th, 2011 | Virginia

According to Money magazine’s list of America’s Best Small Towns, I live near the fourth best town in the country.

Leesburg, VA, population 42,600 is the 4th ranked city in the nation, says Money.

Other Virginia towns in the top 100 included
Herndon
Montclair
Oakton
&
Manassas Park.

The average initial listing price for a home in Leesburg? $486,018. Now don’t you want to move here?

I guess they think suburban neighborhoods qualify as “small towns”. As for the home prices they Are “Money Magazine” after all.

    E M,

You could always move to Oakton (#36) and pay over $600,000 for a small townhouse. That $486,018 property in Leesburg will cost you about $850,000 in most parts of Fairfax County.

by someone’s measure, Leesburg is a small town. Kenbridge (formerly Tinkling), in Lunenburg Co. (Mother of Counties) has 1,200 persons. Dundas has even fewer.

Our home prices are substantially less.
