Bolling and Cuccinelli openly question Kaine on NLRB
By | Thursday, June 30th, 2011 | Politics

While some Republicans continue their sparring with one another over who should by the nominee for U.S. Senate in 2012, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli are openly questioning the presumptive Democratic nominee, former Governor Tim Kaine, about his view on the National Labor Relations Board’s stance with respect to Boeing and his commitment to defending Virginia’s Right-to-Work law.

Once again, an un-elected and unchecked government bureaucracy is overstepping its Constitutional authority, but what does Kaine think?

Bolling states:

“In my role as Virginia’s Chief Jobs Creation Officer, I know how important our Right-to-Work law is in helping recruit new business, industry and jobs to Virginia. Employers want to know that they have a stable environment in which to do business….Unfortunately, in recent years our right to work law has been under attack. The most recent attack comes from the National Labor Relations Board and their incessant efforts to force unionization on employers through a number of misguided federal policies.”

Virginia and Texas, both right-to-work states, are consistently ranked as number one or two in the country for being the best places to locate a business.

Cuccinelli adds:

“This NLRB assault is a jobs creation program… for China. Does Tim Kaine really support this sort of extra-legal, Virginia-job-destroying policy? I think Virginians deserve the right to know before Kaine is given power to affect the NLRB in the U.S. Senate. Washington hasn’t yet gotten the message that it needs to get out of our day to day lives. That’s why Virginia needs a Congressional delegation that is committed to preserving the freedom embodied in Virginia’s Right-to-Work law.”

The only thing Kaine has done publicly is support union workers during the Wisconsin budget debates earlier this year. If you’ll recall the episode, the state was held at a standstill for weeks while Democratic legislators scurried out of the state for fear of actually legislating and, what can only be described as a mob, took over the state capital grounds, leaving it trashed.

The Republican Party of Virginia notes:

As DNC Chairman, Kaine was quick to mobilize the party’s resources to oppose the efforts of Republican Governor Scott Walker, of Wisconsin, to overhaul his state’s public employee collective bargaining rules. According to reports by The Washington Post, Kaine spoke with Wisconsin labor leaders during the legislative debate on Governor Walker’s budget repair bill.

Not long after, Organizing for America, the remnants of the Obama 2008 campaign began making phone calls, sending Twitter messages and e-mails in an effort to rally opposition to the bill.

So, it’s an appropriate question for Kaine to answer – and one he certainly shouldn’t be silent on. But if actions speak louder than words, I think we already know where he stands and who he stands with.

I got a little discouraged seeing the title of this post but the content turned out somewhat better than that. (The title connotes that usually the questions are muttered under the breath.) I would almost go so far as to say that Bolling and Cooch and even the RPV “pointedly” question Kaine. Now if that can be done more and more loudly and often to all leftist Dems I might lose my gloom and doom.

I asked both Sen. Web and Sen. Warner (via email). It took over a week to get an answer and both took a pass. Sen. Warner’s office wouldn’t even acknowledge that I ask for the Senators position on the NLRB suite they just thanked me for sharing my opinion.
