Barner Revealed as BD’s DCH

As you may know, we do not normally post full press releases on the Bearing Drift website. As this was one of our own, however, we thought we’d make an exception:

In conjunction with a professional transition, E M Barner has come out as “DCH,” an occasional contributor to Bearing Drift (BD), the leading conservative voice in the Virginia blogsphere.

Born at the dawn of the Reagan era, Barner began blogging in 2008, after JR Hoeft asked her to join his fledgling band of merry bloggers, patriots all.

In a statement released earlier today, Hoeft noted that Barner was exactly the type of contributor he was looking for: “She’s not a RINO, TINO, CINO, progressive or radical centrist, but a straight shooting, down the line conservative with a history of effective investment in targeted campaigns. She stands strong for freedom and faithfully participates in the most important election of our lifetime, year after year.”

Shaun Kenney, also a BD contributor, and long time blogger demurred: “It’s JR’s blog and he can invite whoever he likes to post but, make no mistake, I think she’s a bit of an extremist. I know she’s worked for politicians who have gotten money from big oil and big pharma, so they must give her marching orders. Besides, I’m quite sure there was a time or two when I heard her mentioned in connection with shadowy too conservative figures or NLS. I’ve even talked with a number of people who suspect she’s not exactly a Jeffersonian conservative, if you know what I mean.”

Barner retorted: “Let me be clear about this: I was unexpectedly honored to be asked to serve on JR’s team at BD. After talking with a number of people, I found that almost no one would admit to reading blogs but almost everyone had been told about the latest controversy in the blogsphere. I figured it must not be such a bad gig to inform the people who were obviously informing everyone else. Like, that would be totally cool if I was from, like any valley but my hometown.”

Barner continued: “Contrary to certain much exaggerated rumors, I rarely associate with shadowy organizations, such as the ones where some bloggers get their information. Instead, I go straight to the source. Not to brag, but as a point of fact, I am regarded as something of a social media expert by those who know far less than I do about communication in the digital age. In case you missed it, my only goal here is to give you fair and balanced access to up to date information on conservative principles, policies and politicos across the Commonwealth. It doesn’t take an exploratory committee to know how important it is to listen to the generals on the ground and march with the army you have. Bearing Drift is the portal informed Virginians need to connect with the grassroots and grasstops marching on the ground today. I’m proud to be able to make some small contribution here.”

Michael Fletcher, a stalwart in the marketing department at Bearing Drift, begged readers who enjoy the contributions of DCH – or any BD blogger – to participate in the blogs first annual money bomb.
