I have been concerned for quite some time about the direction of our state and federal government; I want to do what I can to make sure my children have the same opportunities I had growing up here.” said Lapetina. “After years of serving in the medical profession I felt compelled to step forward and offer my

I received the impression from Gary Byler that several people were interested in seeking this nomination. I like it when there are multiple candidates to choose from, although this isn’t my district, so I won’t do any choosing.

Ben Loyola has the support of the tea party, local republican officials, Congressman Rigell, and Bob McDonnell. Joanne Lapetina is dead in the water and stands no chance of winning the nomination, let alone defeating Ralph Northam. If she and Admiral would drop out, Loyola would have 1 more precious month to go after Northam.

Does Dr. Lapetina, her husband and kids live in Richmond or Norfolk?

Interesting, I heard Mr. Loyola say he had the support of a number of the ‘electeds and previous candidates’ the other night. Problem is, when those statements were checked out, they did not prove to be substantiated. I guess you could ask Randy Wright how the support from Bob worked out; and by the way- where exactly is that endorsement?

You have a Dr. that can go head to head with a Dr. about everything wrong with Obamacare from a doctors point of view. She runs the ER in multiple hospitals as well as having been involved with multiple rescue crews. These are the grass roots that will make a difference in the general election. Ben is a nice guy but so is Ralph and neither of them have the network she has. And from a family with a long history IN the district, unlike Ben who just moved into the District to run for anything he could.

It will be an interesting convention in the middle of July, when no one is thinking of politics.

Oh, yes, please let’s talk about exactly where the candidates have lived and for how long! Dr. Lapetina is the medical director for Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center’s emergency department in Norfolk. She lives directly down the street from where she works! Her family has been there over a hundred years.

Where exactly does Ben live and for exactly how long?

I’m not so sure about Ben Having McDonnell support or Mizusawa either He sure likes to throw peoples name around.

JZ, why is Gary Byler messing around in the 6th district? Who’s team has Jason Miyares joined?

  8. Another Conservative June 15, 2011 08:26 am

    Tim,
That is funny! You must not realize the 6th Senate district IS IN the 2nd District plus Matthews.

Jason, like all political hacks, is probably working for whoever has the deepest pockets.

Ok, if Byler is the kingmaker, then who is Pam Brown and why is she necessary?

  10. J.M. Ripley June 15, 2011 12:29 pm

Pam Brown is the GOP Party Chairman of Norfolk.

In a discussion with an attendee about the Accomack County 6th district debate last night: Dr. Lapetina was a no show, but Melody Scalley played a video from Dr. Lapetina while holding up a laptop for everyone to see. Dr. Lapetina’s husband was there and had no comment.

John Amiral was late to the debate and stated that he was upset and disappointed by a small donation made by the Republican Party to his Delegate campaign. Amrial was called out by an angry constituent who said that public records show that over $13K was donated to him by the Party.

A poll was mentioned that was taken by Loyola in the 6th but no details were revealed.

  12. Dona Danziger June 17, 2011 12:59 pm

@Tim, interesting take on the Accomack Unit’s meeting, I was there and it didn’t go that way. Do you work for Loyola’s campaign?
Dr. Lapetina can’t be every where at the same time. She is a fine canidate and has my full support and many, many others.

  13. Tim J June 17, 2011 17:04 pm

No, I don’t work for Amrial, Loyola or anyone else and I was clear that the report was from a conversation with an attendee at the Accomack meeting. I have business interests in the 6th district and am concerned about this race. Were you at the Mathews County debate last night? Amiral and Loyola were there and Dr. Lapetina again didn’t show as she was at a Norfolk city Republican committee meeting. If you have another take on the Accomack or Mathews meetings I would be interested to know.
