Nice whisper, Mark! Maybe they could’ve given you written directions on what to do with that gavel.

Genius….

Where was Warner when they were briefing “gavel etiquette” when he was a freshman Senator? Maybe he was too busy “tweeting” to be bothered?

I can feel for him. While as a junior CPO (Chief Petty Officer), I was quickly rushed through the qualification process for OOD (Officer of the Deck) on the quarterdeck. I once took over the watch while the Commodore was visiting the ship and he departed during my watch. We gave him the proper bells as he departed however, without instruction from above, I instructed the POOW (Petty Officer of the Watch) to give him the stinger (an additional bell as his foot hits the gangplank).

Those of you who have stood OOD might understand just how serious of a gaffe this was on my part. No one gave me any serious amount of grief over this incident, however I was extremely embarrassed and I always personally considered it a serious blemish on my performance as a CPO.

At least you had your moment on the Quarterdeck of a ship and not on CSPAN as one of only two elected Senators of our fine state. I hope Trump has Warner on Celebrity Apprentice after he loses his next election.

You gotta be kidding! This is important?
These fake sessions are what you shoul be bemoaning.
